Make a Hot Cocoa Slider Card. It is fun to give a little gift with a card, and with this card you are giving a pack of Hot Cocoa!
This week I thought it would be fun to make a Hot Cocoa card with a pack of Hot Cocoa! I made these when I lived in MI 20 years ago, and I thought this bundle would be a good one to make it again. Dimensions Basic White 3 1/2″ x 5″ plus scraps Shaded Spruce 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Scored at 2″ and 6″ Real Red 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ Basic Black scrap. Ribbon 21″ Designer Series Paper 3/4″ strip for the sleeve, 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ for the top of the white piece if you want to just leave a message, or 2″ x 3 1/2″ if you want it to be a gift card holder. Instructions -Stamp the cup, hot chocolate, marshmallows, and candy cane on scraps of white and die cut. Stamp “This Calls For” and “Pull” on a thin white strip. 3/8″ is how thin I had it. -Color in the cup and candy cane. I used Pecan Pie and Real Red. -Stamp the sleeve of the cup on a designer series paper strip and then cut out the “sleeve”. Attach to the cup. -Die cut Red piece using Nested Essentials Dies and attach to the front of the card. -Adhere the cup to the die cut piece, and then use mini dimensionals to attach the Marshmallows and “This Calls For”. Use adhesive to attach the candy cane. -Score the Shaded Spruce at 2″ and 6″ and then use a strong adhesive to close it in back. -Punch a hole through the top center using a standard hole punch. -Attach Black piece to our adhesive sheets, and then die cut Hot Cocoa. Pull off the back of the adhesive sheet and adhere words to the card. -Decide if you want to write a message on the inside or add a message and gift card. If you want to write a message, put a 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ strip along the top of the white 3 1/2″ x 5″ piece. If you want to include a gift card, partially punch a circle creating a indent in the 2″ x 3 1/2″ piece, and adhere to the bottom on 3 sides leaving the top open for the gift card. -Attach white piece to Real Red 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece. -Wrap ribbon around the card insert and slide it into the center of the card. Have the front ribbon go out the front circle, and the back ribbon go out the back circle. -If you have the stamp “Pull”, stamp that on a little strip and pierce the end so you can put the Real Red and Baker’s twine through it. Tie this around the front ribbon. -Tie a bow with the White ribbon. |
I hope you get time to create soon. Make someone’s day, and send them a card!
