11 Jun

This weekend begins all the graduation parties.  Here are the cards I made this week.

I used the Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and the Happy Grad stamp from the Summer Mini Catalog.  Together along with the star punches, they make a quick card.

How many open houses do you have this year?

I have already been to three open houses for family friends. My nephew Matthew graduated last Saturday, but his open house is July 17. His family just returned (tonight) from their class schedule registration trip to UND in Grand Forks, ND where he will be a freshmen in August. He leaves Monday for an exchange trip to Germany for three weeks. My cousin's daughter has her open house July 10 and Matt's open house is the next weekend. So, I get a little break from parties, but am making a dozen or so cards for my sister-in-law to give out at Matt's party. Also, I am frantically working on an MDS book for him that I need to get to the printer in less than two weeks! Wish me luck!!!

I like your cards, Kristen. I've been looking at that stamp since the catalog came out and plan to get it at my party this week. We've had two invites, but unfortunately, one of them was on the same day as Ben's birthday party, so we weren't able to make it. I made a "non-traditional" graduation card (with flowers instead of graduation caps) for the second, but it turned out pretty cute anyway.

Today I watched my oldest son walk across the stage and receive his High School diploma. I seriously do not know where the last 18 years went! It was quite the emotional day! First in church and then at the graduation ceremony.

Besides our own open house which was yesterday, we have/had 9 to go to this year with a few more to come in July. I used the Happy Grad set to make the cards for the grads, and a retired graduation stamp set to make the invites to our Open House. My next project is making thank you cards for him to send out!

    Kerry,

I can not imagine having my oldest graduate! I can see how it would be emotional. Enjoy your summer with him!
