I just assembled my Lilypad Lake and decided it would make a great anniversary card. Today my husband and I are celebrating 24 years of marriage! I love our Pretty Peacock 1/2" Scalloped Ribbon, so I decided to start with that for color inspiration.
When I stamped the 2 birds I noticed by having the one higher than the other that the water would cover the lily pads if I stamped the water where I wanted it to reach on the birds. I decided to mask them. The easiest way to do this is to stamp the lily pads on a post it at the top where it is sticky. I cut by hand out the lily pads, cutting into the bottom a little so it stamps just right over it. Simply place your cut out piece on top of the image, and stamp over it.
The ink will not go where you have the post it piece. Isn't that slick?
I keep the cut out post it note in my case so it is ready to go the next tie I want to make a card.
I used my Stampin Blends to color in the card. To make the flowers a little lighter, I used the color lifter. Tip: Use lightly and give it a minute and it shows up. If you put too much on, the colors can bleed.
For the greeting, I stamped Happy Anniversary from Itty Bitty Greetings. I used the Classic Label punch. On the video I show how to use the punch to trim it smaller. I then put a 1"X2" piece of Pretty Peacock card stock behind it to make it stand out a little more.
This Stamp set along with High Tide are going to be the stamp sets for my next round of Stamps in The Mail. If you would like to make 12 cards using this 2 sets let me know and I can get you signed up for SITM 44!
